Microneedling
Microneedling is an effective solution to multiple skin concerns in one procedure, including textural concerns, acne scars, fine lines, hyperpigmentation, and stretch marks. It does not involve heat or chemicals and therefore reduces downtime and side effects while still being highly effective.
It is an absolute classic and staple beauty treatment for anyone looking to improve the way their skin looks and feels!

Who Is This For?
Acne Scars
Reduces the appearance of acne scars, whether they be textured or pigmented.
Fine lines & Wrinkles
Boosts collagen and elastin production which improves the texture of the skin and minimizes fine lines and wrinkles, resulting in a smoother surface.
Hyperpigmentation
Improves the overall skin tone by reducing dark spots, exfoliating the skin of dead cells, and revealing brighter and more radiant skin underneath.
Stretch Marks & Scars
Induces collagen and elastin production, which remodels scarred skin over time, leading to an improvement in the texture and appearance of stretch marks over the course of multiple sessions.
Reduces Enlarged Pores
Tightens the skin and increases skin cell turnover, removing excess oil and debris from the pores, making them appear smaller.
Overall Skin Rejuvenation
By stimulating collagen and elastin production, microneedling rejuvenates the skin and results in a smoother, firmer, and more radiant appearance.
At Vitalize Skin Clinic, microneedling is performed using the TWIST by Dermaroller device. Dermaroller GmbH was the original company that founded the microneedling procedure and the TWIST device is their latest invention.

- TWIST by Dermaroller is Health Canada approved and meets rigorous safety and quality requirements.
- Medical Grade Quality - Made in Germany to the highest European surgical standards (CE-certified)
- High quality surgical stainless steel needles and disposable cartridges ensure safety and precision.
- Clinically proven results
- The TWIST device reduces unnecessary trauma, dragging, tearing, or friction to the skin due to ultra-fine 360-degree symmetrical needle penetration which ensures even results across the skin.
- The TWIST is the only microneedling device to use Active Needle Retrieval technology, a patented technique which rapidly retracts the needles with an active motor after they penetrate the skin, resulting in a more comfortable, safe, and effective treatment by allowing the needles to penetrate deeper (more effectively) while minimizing discomfort.
- Not a battery operated device, ensuring consistent power output and efficacy.
Combined Treatment: You can combine microneedling with our laser facial, which uses heat energy to create a thermal injury and boost collagen production. This facial is great for minimizing pore size, skin tightening, reduction of fine lines, targeting redness, pigmentation, and resulting in a glowing appearance.

Sayma Akter Shuvo2025-02-05Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I was hesitant to try laser hair removal again after having a poor experience at another clinic which used a different laser device but decided to give it another shot as Sadia reassured me that the Candela GentleMax Pro is the most poweful laser in the market and will even work on my dark skin type effectively with the ND YAG laser. After just 3 sessions, I am amazed with the results as the hair is nearly gone! I’m excited to finish my sessions and see the final result!

How does microneedling work?
Microneedling involves using non-traumatic needles to create controlled damage to the skin with the goal of inducing collagen production which will allow the skin to heal correctively. When the skin heals, damaged and scarred skin achieves an improvement in texture, tone, firmness and elasticity. Thereby, resulting in healthier, smoother, and more attractive looking skin over the course of a few sessions. Additionally, microneedling promotes the absorption of active ingredients by 80% or more which will amplify results.
What skin concerns does microneedling address?
Microneedling works to diminish the appearance of acne scars, stretch marks, self-harm scars, pigmentation, wrinkles, fine lines, and other textural issues with the skin. It further improves the elasticity of the skin, induces collagen production, and addresses hair loss by promoting growth.
Why Vitalize Skin Clinic?
At Vitalize Skin Clinic we use surgical-grade and Health Canada approved equipment and sterilized needles with advanced safety features, specifically designed for micro-needling. Our staff was trained in this procedure by a dermatologist, manufacturers of the equipment, and accredited by the reputable, George Brown college. We are differentiated from other clinics performing microneedling with limited training or cheap equipment, as we only use medical-grade microneedling devices and skin products which do not risk causing further trauma and scarring to the skin. Additionally, we do not jeopardize the safety of our clients by using off-label serums, oils, or concoctions and stick to Health Canada approved, quality serums designed for microneedling.
Does microneedling help with stretch marks?
Microneedling is one of the oldest, most tested, and effective treatments to treat stretch marks and scars, and can lessen their appearance or make them completely invisible. However, it is important to note that stretch marks differ from more superficial marks such as acne scars, as they are caused by ruptures and tears deep within a layer of the skin, called the dermis, therefore no treatment on the market can guarantee to completely erase their appearance. In our experience, stretch marks significantly improve in texture, appearance, and tone after a few sessions of microneedling, making them much less noticeable and bothersome for patients. Individual results may vary depending on the severity of stretch marks and the unique anatomy and healing patterns of the patient.
What is the difference between microneedling and laser treatment?
Microneedling is considered less invasive than traditional laser treatments, which typically involve heat, therefore the risks for side effects are minimized and healing time is quicker. Compared to laser treatment, microneedling is also significantly more cost effective and suitable for all skin types, including those prone to post inflammatory hyperpigmentation
What is the difference between microneedling and inkless stretch mark removal?
Inkless stretch mark removal is a buzz-word for the microneedling technique, a procedure which has been around for over a century. Both microneedling and inkless stretch mark removal (ISR) involve creating controlled micro-injuries to the skin using needling techniques to induce collagen production and diminish the appearance of stretch marks and scars. We do not offer the inkless stretch mark technique at Vitalize Skin Clinic, as it is typically performed with off-label tattoo needling devices, which are significantly cheaper and thereby pose a greater risk of trauma to the skin compared to Health Canada approved micro needling devices. It is also critical to be wary of off-label skin products, oils, serums, and self-made concoctions, often used during the ISR method, as they are not Health Canada approved for use on the skin following microneedling. Another thing to be cautious of is false advertising, edited images, deceptive lighting, and unhealed hyperpigmentation which are used by deceptive practitioners to make the stretch marks appear more flattering. To judge results for accuracy, ensure the before and after photos are taken in the same lighting, are unedited, and are shown after the hyperpigmentation, which may temporarily disguise the stretch marks, fully resolves.

When will I see results?
Typically, results will be visible as soon as the skin heals and at least 3-4 sessions are advised, depending on the skin concerns. It will take 4-6 weeks to experience full results and for collagen production to develop. After microneedling, collagen will continue to be produced for up to 2 years after treatment and your skin will continue to benefit from its effects.
What are the side effects of microneedling?
Microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure and therefore the potential for side effects is greatly diminished as compared to invasive laser treatments involving heat, which may be unsuitable for skin types prone to hyperpigmentation. Temporary side effects include redness, discomfort, swelling, flaking, and dryness. These side effects typically resolve within a few days.
Who is not a candidate for microneedling?
It is not advisable for individuals with active acne, active skin infections, keloid scarring, bleeding disorders, weakened immune systems, certain illnesses which affect the skin, HIV, or those undergoing pregnancy to get microneedling.
