Laser Pigmentation Removal

Laser Pigmentation Removal provides an effective and safe solution for those looking to rid themselves of sunspots, freckles, and agespots and reveal smoother and blemish free skin using an advanced and gentle technique, free from harsh chemicals or ablative procedures.

About Laser Pigmentation Removal

Laser pigmentation removal targets excess pigmentation within the skin, presenting in the form of sunspots, freckles, and age spots. When these unwanted spots are fired at with our laser device, they first immediately darken in colour, forming a pepper-like appearance, and then they simply naturally flake off over the course of a few days to a week. At Vitalize Skin Clinic, we use a Health Canada approved laser –  the GentleMax Pro to clear up benign pigmented lesions without affecting the surrounding skin. Generally, 1-3 sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart are required for this treatment, and we can target spots on both the face and body.

How Laser Pigmentation Removal Works

Targets Unwanted Pigment

The laser uses light energy to target benign pigmented lesions by breaking apart the melanin in the dark spots using heat, which causes the lesions to darken immediately and then flake off over about 1-2 weeks. Typically 1-3 sessions are recommended between 4-6 weeks apart, with noticeable results often being seen after just 1 session!

Our laser pigmentation removal device can safely remove sunspots, age spots, and freckles anywhere on the face or body.

At Vitalize Skin Clinic, your safety is our top priority, which is why we only use Health Canada and FDA approved technology such as the Candela GentleMax Pro to perform this treatment.

The laser precisely targets the unwanted spots, leaving the surrounding skin untouched, which reduces trauma to the skin, hyperpigmentation risks, and results in faster healing in just 1-3 sessions!

The laser targets pigment in the skin, bringing it up to the surface, where it will then flake off or diminish in appearance. This will clear the skin of freckles, age spots, dark spots and pigmentation without damaging the surrounding unaffected skin.

Before treatment, ensure the skin is clear of self tanner, makeup, or moisturizer. It is advised to
avoid any irritants including hydroxy acids and retinoids for a week before treatment. It is important to disclose your medical history and any prescription medications you are taking as they may have contraindications with the laser technology.

There is no downtime following the procedure, however it is advised to avoid direct sunlight, vigorous activity, and abrasive cleansers, retinoids, and exfoliants on the skin for the first few days after treatment. Additionally, avoid scratching the area as it may lead to scarring. It is recommended to apply a cool compress, use medical grade sunscreen during the day, keep the area clean, and apply polysporin if you experience blistering.
